Hydroxypropyl-guar, or HP-Guar, acts as a gelling agent6. It transforms on the surface of the eye to form a protective coating6, and can stick particularly well to parts of the surface that have been damaged by prolonged dryness.7

Systane® HYDRATION PRESERVATIVE-FREE Lubricant Eye Drops is a sterile solution containing sodium hyaluronate, polyethylene glycol 400, propylene glycol, hydroxypropyl guar, sorbitol, aminomethyl propanol, boric acid, sodium borate, potassium chloride, sodium, chloride, and purified water. May contain hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide to adjust pH.
